Caring for your garden

To help you keep your garden looking great all year round, here's some tips from our gardening experts.

1. Drainage

To maintain the lawn it is recommended you invest in a good lawn mower and strimmer to cut and edge the lawn.
Once established the lawn should be cut regularly on a high setting.
Try not to cut the lawn too short, a recommended length is 15-20mm. See our yearly gardening diary above.
You should feed your lawn throughout Spring, Summer & Autumn. In Spring it should be fed with a nitrogen feed.
You should keep your lawn free of leaves as limited light will cause the lawn to fail.
During wetter months it is advised to stay off the lawn as much as possible, this includes pets.
If you do have pets who are allowed on the lawn, expect to see patches of green and brown in places. Without regular care, it is likely areas of your lawn may begin to fail as a result.
